Vice Principal, Academic

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for academic programs to ensure alignment with institutional mission and priorities
• Lead the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of curriculum, programs, and instructional strategies
• Oversee academic quality, compliance, accreditation, and performance metrics
• Manage clinical placements and maintain strong partnerships with external healthcare stakeholders and clinical sites
• Support faculty and staff through recruitment, workforce planning, performance management, and professional development
• Manage academic and departmental budgets, including planning, forecasting, and resource allocation
• Champion a student-centered approach by overseeing academic processes such as admissions, appeals, and discipline
• Lead strategic initiatives, special projects, and new program development including business case creation

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Health, Health Sciences, or a related healthcare discipline
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in an academic and/or healthcare environment
• Proven expertise in human resource management, including staff development and performance management
• Demonstrated experience in budget management and resource allocation
• Advanced conflict management, negotiation, and resolution skills, ideally within a unionized environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
