Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive action plans and workout strategies for distressed assets across various restructuring options
- Compile detailed recommendations and options analyses to protect the bank’s exposure across different capital structures
- Act as a key counterpart to front-line leadership, coverage bankers, and credit managers regarding deteriorating names
- Engage proactively with borrowers, sponsors, financial creditors, and external legal counsel to negotiate restructuring terms
- Assess and negotiate waivers, lender consent requests, and restructuring or amendment legal documentation
- Prepare high-quality credit papers and strategic recommendations for internal decision-making forums and senior management
- Liaise with regional risk functions to support effective credit risk management through early identification of distressed assets
Requirements
- Extensive experience in financial restructuring, workout processes, or recoveries across multiple credit cycles
- Proven track record in managing substantial multi-bank or creditor syndicate transactions
- Expertise in navigating various EMEA jurisdictions and utilizing diverse insolvency tools
- Strong background in assessing legal documentation, including waivers and restructuring agreements
- Advanced analytical skills, including financial statement analysis, 13-week cash flows, and valuation/recovery analysis
- Bachelor's degree is required; CFA or advanced legal/accounting qualifications are preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information to senior global stakeholders
