Vice President/Senior Director of Policy and Consulting

Responsibilities

• Lead targeted research projects and oversee the implementation of thought leadership deliverables, including reports and memoranda.
• Identify and lead consulting initiatives for public and private sector entities regarding global privacy, data, and tech policy.
• Define and execute CIPL’s global strategy, objectives, and areas for growth in digital regulation and AI governance.
• Deepen relationships with members, senior business leaders, and key stakeholders in government, academia, and international organizations.
• Oversee the development of agendas and content for CIPL events and represent the organization as a public speaker.
• Manage and develop team members, optimizing organizational structure to drive growth and efficiency.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (J.D., Ph.D., or Master’s) in law, public policy, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience shaping innovation policy, regulatory strategy, or public impact.
• Deep expertise in global privacy, security, and data laws, including the regulation of AI and emerging technologies.
• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Exceptional writing, analytical, and public speaking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality deliverables such as white papers and consulting proposals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within regulatory agencies, government bodies, or major think tanks.
• Strong understanding of data-driven innovation, technology trends, or foundational computer science concepts.
• Knowledge of competition law, intellectual property law, or regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in additional languages.
