Vice President - Sanctions Programs

Responsibilities

• Manage the Sanctions Programs team and provide direct oversight and development for two direct reports.
• Drive the implementation of financial crimes risk appetite, policies, and standards across the EMEA region.
• Act as a sanctions advisory hub, providing clear, informative, and consistent guidance for all regional queries.
• Oversee the drafting and review of Sanctions Policy and Procedure documents and manage the governance lifecycle.
• Provide SME knowledge and risk management guidance for sanctions systems and transformation initiatives.
• Drive the timely resolution of EMEA sanctions issues identified via audits, testing, or regulatory requirements.
• Manage outsourced sanctions services, ensuring the achievement of KRIs and KPIs.
• Support EMEA transformation activities and provide SME input for sanctions-related training.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a central sanctions function.
• Strong knowledge of banking and sanctions controls within a financial crime framework.
• Proven experience in managing a team and leading high-performing individuals.
• Experience with issues management, audit, and testing processes.
• Hands-on experience working with sanctions systems.
• Deep understanding of OFAC, EU, and UK sanctions regulations.
• Strong analytical, written communication, and relationship management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• University degree.
• Relevant professional qualifications in financial crime or compliance.
