About the role

Responsibilities

  • Direct Regeneron’s Neuroscience research team of approximately 50 researchers to develop therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases, motor neuron disease, chronic pain, and neuropsychiatric disorders.
  • Set strategic vision and identify new technologies, including genetic medicines, to pursue novel targets.
  • Supervise the senior Neuroscience leadership team and manage the broader group, providing vision and long-term goals.
  • Ensure the progression of targets through the development pipeline by making critical go/no-go decisions.
  • Participate in translational activities to move drug targets from early research through clinical development.
  • Collaborate with other therapeutic focus areas and technology groups to advance research as a systems-level endeavor.
  • Mentor group members to develop their scientific and professional potential.
  • Oversee the review of neuroscience-related documents, including regulatory submissions and manuscripts.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant scientific field.
  • 10+ years of experience following the completion of your PhD.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industry or translational setting.
  • Deep and broad expertise in the field of Neuroscience.
  • Proven experience with cutting-edge technologies, including genetic medicines.
  • Strong managerial and mentorship experience.
  • Experience with organizational and budget management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 20+ years of post-PhD experience.
  • Exposure to drug development or similar regulated activities.
  • A broad network of colleagues and collaborators with a strong publication record and international reputation.
