About the role

Responsibilities

  • Originate investor-owned multifamily CRE loans within defined credit parameters, focusing on small- to mid-multifamily assets (5–50 units).
  • Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline through brokers, owner/operators, and community-based sourcing channels.
  • Build and deepen client relationships to drive operating deposits, treasury management adoption, and full banking solutions.
  • Conduct upfront deal screening, including borrower and property analysis, assessing metrics such as DSCR, LTV, and Debt Yield.
  • Manage the full deal life cycle from sourcing and structuring to approval, closing, and onboarding.
  • Partner closely with Commercial Real Estate underwriting to deliver disciplined, risk-adjusted transactions.
  • Identify and prioritize CRA-eligible lending opportunities to support community investment objectives.
  • Execute regional business development strategies to meet annual production and volume targets.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate or business banking.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful completion of the CMS Compass Program or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of business banking products, lending processes, and loan documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Proven track record in portfolio risk management and business development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
