About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee all manufacturing operations to ensure they meet quality standards and customer requirements
- Develop and implement operational strategies, long-term planning, and budgeting aligned with company objectives
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and reduce costs
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing, multi-shift operations team while fostering a culture of accountability and safety
- Ensure the integration of new technologies and advanced manufacturing techniques into existing processes
- Manage the operations budget, monitor expenses, and report on financial performance to the executive team
- Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, and EHSS to ensure goal alignment and operational excellence
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
- Proven senior operational experience within the tough tech manufacturing industry
- Demonstrated track record of leading plant operations and overseeing large, multi-shift teams
- Deep expertise in manufacturing processes, Lean principles, and quality management systems
- Strong background in strategic planning, process engineering, and continuous improvement programs (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma)
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing complex budgets
- Ability to work in an industrial environment containing hazards such as high voltage, strong magnets, and cryogenics
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree
- Experience driving Manufacturing Centers of Excellence (CoE) and scaling best practices across multiple plants
