About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all manufacturing operations to ensure they meet quality standards and customer requirements
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, long-term planning, and budgeting aligned with company objectives
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and reduce costs
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing, multi-shift operations team while fostering a culture of accountability and safety
  • Ensure the integration of new technologies and advanced manufacturing techniques into existing processes
  • Manage the operations budget, monitor expenses, and report on financial performance to the executive team
  • Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, and EHSS to ensure goal alignment and operational excellence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
  • Proven senior operational experience within the tough tech manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrated track record of leading plant operations and overseeing large, multi-shift teams
  • Deep expertise in manufacturing processes, Lean principles, and quality management systems
  • Strong background in strategic planning, process engineering, and continuous improvement programs (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma)
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing complex budgets
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment containing hazards such as high voltage, strong magnets, and cryogenics

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Experience driving Manufacturing Centers of Excellence (CoE) and scaling best practices across multiple plants
