Vice President of Business Development - Building Group

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies for the vertical construction market along the East Coast.
• Identify emerging trends, funding mechanisms, and competitive dynamics impacting building capital programs.
• Build multi-year strategic plans for targeted Federal/Government, Healthcare, Higher Education, and Sports & Entertainment clients.
• Lead win strategies for major pursuits, ensuring alignment with client needs and competitive positioning.
• Maintain active engagement in industry forums, conferences, and professional associations to strengthen market presence.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with client executives, program managers, and facility leaders.
• Oversee major pursuits from early positioning through proposal development, negotiation, and award.
• Direct cross-functional pursuit teams including estimating, design partners, operations, legal, and finance.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive experience in operations, business development, or executive leadership within the Building/Vertical construction industry.
• Proven track record of securing major building construction, consulting, or design-build contracts.
• Established professional network within the vertical construction industry.
• Expertise in capture strategy, contract negotiation, and complex pursuit leadership.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to build trust with C-suite leaders.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field.
