About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide deep medical and scientific expertise on medical affairs, launch, and lifecycle strategies
  • Lead the development and implementation of Global medical strategy across Medical Affairs Operations and Medical Science Liaison functions
  • Partner with the organization to establish market access strategies including pricing, reimbursement, and access
  • Establish strategic partnerships with internal leaders in clinical development, regulatory affairs, safety, and commercial
  • Grow professional relationships with the external expert community to maintain knowledge of disease areas and unmet medical needs
  • Enrich relationships with patients and patient advocacy groups for clinical trials and commercial planning
  • Represent Annexon at advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings, congresses, and symposia
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and regulatory authorities to ensure ethical interactions with external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years Medical Affairs experience in biopharma
  • Prior experience in ophthalmology product launches
  • Established network of medical and clinical contacts
  • Proven ability to lead and manage in a multi-functional matrix environment
  • Experience in global, regional, or local healthcare ecosystems
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and international regulatory requirements
  • Experience in finance, budgeting, and resource management
  • Strong medical/clinical communication and presentation skills
