About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide deep medical and scientific expertise on medical affairs, launch, and lifecycle strategies
- Lead the development and implementation of Global medical strategy across Medical Affairs Operations and Medical Science Liaison functions
- Partner with the organization to establish market access strategies including pricing, reimbursement, and access
- Establish strategic partnerships with internal leaders in clinical development, regulatory affairs, safety, and commercial
- Grow professional relationships with the external expert community to maintain knowledge of disease areas and unmet medical needs
- Enrich relationships with patients and patient advocacy groups for clinical trials and commercial planning
- Represent Annexon at advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings, congresses, and symposia
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and regulatory authorities to ensure ethical interactions with external stakeholders
Requirements
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) preferred
- Minimum of 15 years Medical Affairs experience in biopharma
- Prior experience in ophthalmology product launches
- Established network of medical and clinical contacts
- Proven ability to lead and manage in a multi-functional matrix environment
- Experience in global, regional, or local healthcare ecosystems
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and international regulatory requirements
- Experience in finance, budgeting, and resource management
- Strong medical/clinical communication and presentation skills
