Vice President for Mission and Ministry

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic leader on the President's Cabinet to guide mission integration across academic, student life, and community engagement efforts.
• Act as a compelling ambassador for Marquette’s Catholic, Jesuit mission both on campus and within the broader community.
• Foster mission integration within academic programs, student formation, and overall campus culture.
• Provide innovative leadership for Campus Ministry and Ignatian spirituality initiatives.
• Partner with faculty and administrators to embed mission into hiring, professional development, and institutional decision-making.
• Champion inclusion, dialogue, and the principle of cura personalis (care for the whole person).

Requirements

• Deep commitment to Catholic, Jesuit higher education.
• Proven experience leading within complex organizational structures.
• Ability to communicate mission and vision with clarity, conviction, and inspiration.
• A collaborative leadership style capable of uniting diverse voices around a shared purpose.

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership in the Society of Jesus.
• Possession of a terminal degree.
• Demonstrated understanding of the vocation of faculty at a major university.
