Vice President for Advancement

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the university’s development and alumni engagement efforts
• Partner with the President to coordinate strategy, manage relationships, and align philanthropic ambitions with the institutional mission
• Lead and mentor an integrated advancement team responsible for advancement services, alumni/parent/donor engagement, and development
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth within the advancement department
• Provide strategic direction for the modernization of data management infrastructure and technology optimization
• Develop frameworks to leverage academic and athletic leadership in philanthropic fundraising efforts
• Create pathways to deepen alumni engagement and increase annual giving participation

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to develop and articulate an aspirational philanthropic vision and strategy
• Proven success in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major and principal gifts (seven figures or greater preferred)
• Experience building and strengthening alumni relationships to increase engagement and giving
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing diverse teams
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to act as a natural storyteller
• Proficiency in using data, analytics, and fundraising management systems to drive decision-making
• Commitment to the mission and values of a residential liberal arts education
