Vice President, Finance

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls to ensure GAAP compliance
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including tax and regulatory filings
• Partner with the CEO and leadership team to develop financial strategy, long-term operating plans, and capital allocation recommendations
• Provide scenario modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning support
• Support fundraising efforts, investor relations, and board-level financial reporting
• Implement and maintain scalable accounting and financial systems and tools
• Manage cash flow, including R&D expenses, collaboration budgets, and operational spend
• Manage external vendors such as auditors, tax advisors, and payroll providers
• Deploy AI accelerators across finance operations to improve speed and analytical capacity

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including senior leadership roles
• Proven track record in a private life sciences or biotech company through growth and inflection points
• Strong understanding of GAAP and biotech-specific accounting (R&D accruals, intercompany transactions, collaboration accounting)
• Extensive experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and long-range planning
• Ability to work both as an individual contributor and as a leader of small teams and external vendors
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or MBA designation
• Experience supporting fundraising activities such as venture capital, crossover, or IPO readiness
• Interest in and experience utilizing AI and automation within finance operations
• Familiarity with biopharma collaboration accounting and R&D cost modeling
