Vice President, Finance and Strategy

About the Company

Bluestem Biosciences uses American corn and existing bioethanol infrastructure to produce critical chemicals domestically. Our proprietary biomanufacturing process represents a new, cost-effective way to produce platform chemicals at scale, securing U.S. supply chains and reinvesting in agricultural America.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all financial systems, accounting, and company models and forecasts
• Own the techno-economic assessment (TEA) of the technology and all financial forecasting
• Manage third-party grant accountants to ensure compliant reporting to stakeholders
• Develop and execute project financing strategies, including securing debt and equity capital
• Lead financial structuring and negotiation of offtake agreements and commercial contracts
• Oversee financial modeling and due diligence for M&A, new markets, and strategic partnerships
• Manage financial aspects of commercialization initiatives to ensure alignment with profitability targets
• Partner with legal and business development teams to structure joint ventures and strategic alliances
• Prepare board materials and quarterly/annual reviews
• Monitor and manage financial risks across all business aspects
• Develop and maintain relationships with investors, financial institutions, and external stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment
• Proven ability to lead projects and build professional relationships
• Experience in global strategy development and stakeholder management
