Vice President, Equity Research Analyst - Mining & Gold

Responsibilities

• Generate high-conviction investment ideas within the mining and gold sectors to inform portfolio decisions
• Own end-to-end fundamental research, including company analysis, valuation, and investment recommendations
• Build and maintain robust, decision-grade financial models grounded in clear assumptions
• Develop differentiated views by identifying key value drivers, inflection points, and risks
• Partner closely with portfolio managers on position sizing, timing, and portfolio construction
• Contribute to team discussions to shape sector views and broader investment strategy
• Utilize AI tools to enhance company and commodity analysis

Requirements

• 5–12 years of relevant experience in equity research or a related field
• Academic background and industry experience as a geologist or mining engineer
• Strong financial modelling and valuation capability
• Demonstrated ability to form independent, evidence-based investment views
• Strong analytical rigour and the ability to distil complex information into key value drivers
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate views with conviction

Preferred Qualifications

• Combination of mining industry experience and buy-side experience (public or private equity)
• CFA or equivalent professional certification
