Vice President, Container Management

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of 17 staff members, translating business goals into actionable deliverables.
• Manage global container flow to ensure timely and cost-effective availability across the ESL network.
• Collaborate with local agencies on equipment forecasts and manage container turnaround at ports and inland locations.
• Oversee procurement of new equipment and manage relationships with manufacturers, leasing companies, and vendors.
• Direct Maintenance and Repair (M&R) processes, including depot audits and contract negotiations to ensure quality standards.
• Optimize container inventory levels and implement equipment rejuvenation programs.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure data accuracy within the container tracking system.
• Partner with the Process Excellence team to optimize existing software and deployment programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in container management or equipment flow within the shipping or logistics industry.
• Proven leadership experience managing large teams in a global environment.
• Deep understanding of global shipping practices, industry trends, and container management principles.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, container management software, and analytical tools.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to react swiftly to market changes.
• Ability to travel globally to manage equipment activities.
• Must be able to work onsite in Dubai, Hong Kong, or Singapore.
