Vice President Commercial (Battery Storage)

Responsibilities

• Lead BESS commercial activities and team, establishing deep market understanding and defining route to market strategies.
• Develop expertise in wholesale power markets, regulatory developments, and BESS revenue streams including PPAs and ancillary services.
• Create country-specific monetization strategies to maximize revenues while considering risk, credit, and tax considerations.
• Provide commercial inputs for financial and investment decision-making through market modeling and analysis.
• Supervise subordinates, providing on-the-job training and constructive feedback to support professional development.
• Manage reporting on projects through the entire lifecycle, tracking performance of both developing and operational assets.
• Implement reporting strategies using big data and AI tools to monitor asset and trading performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Engineering, or a related energy/sustainability field.
• 8-10 years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development.
• Proven experience in BESS commercial performance metrics.
• Strong team management and leadership experience.
• Advanced project management, negotiation, and contract administration skills.
• Proficiency in project finance and granular budgeting.
• Must be UK-based with the right to work in the United Kingdom.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing multiple BESS projects from inception to Ready to Build (RTB).
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and diverse environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills.
