Vice President, Business Relationship Manager (Transaction Banking)

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary interface between Transaction Banking and IT to drive digital transformation, operational efficiency, and technology initiatives.
• Translate business needs into clear scope, expected outcomes, business value, and prioritized demand items.
• Partner with Transaction Banking leadership to align strategic objectives with prioritized technology initiatives.
• Manage the operations demand pipeline, service backlog, and initiative inventory to ensure alignment with investment planning.
• Shape improvement initiatives by leveraging AI, data, workflow tools, APIs, and existing enterprise platforms.
• Collaborate with AI & Data, Architecture, and Risk/Compliance teams to operationalize data use cases.
• Assess existing capabilities and shared platforms for reuse before pursuing external vendors or bespoke solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in financial services with a background in Transaction Banking, project management, or operations controls.
• Strong knowledge of market products including payments, deposits, loans, and front-to-back operations processes.
• Proven experience bridging business and IT teams to translate requirements into business cases and technical scope.
• Experience driving system development, digital transformation, regulatory change, or automation initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across regional teams, vendors, Head Office, and control functions.
• Proficiency in English; Japanese business communication capability is considered a significant advantage.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure complex business issues for senior management.
