Vice President, Audit Issue Validation Manager

Responsibilities

• Own the independent validation process for technology audit and risk issues to ensure remediation is complete and residual risk is acceptable.
• Define and maintain issue validation standards, templates, and evidence checklists aligned with IA methodology and regulations like DORA and SOX.
• Perform detailed evidence reviews, including sampling, re-performance, and walkthroughs to test design and operating effectiveness.
• Partner with control owners to agree on closure criteria and provide constructive challenge to action plans to ensure root causes are addressed.
• Track remediation progress on key issues and identify potential risks to effective closure.
• Support regulatory interactions and external audits by providing high-quality validation artefacts and concise status reporting.
• Champion a strong risk and control culture by coaching product and engineering teams on durable control design.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Risk Management, Internal Audit, or External Audit within a highly regulated international organization.
• Expertise in Technology Risk Management and Cyber Security.
• Strong knowledge of SOX and other relevant regulatory compliance standards.
• Deep understanding of IT general controls (ITGC) and application controls.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to challenge senior stakeholders constructively.
• Superior written skills for crafting concise, audit-ready documentation and closure rationales.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within the Banking or Finance industry.
• Familiarity with control frameworks such as COBIT, CRI, NIST, or ISO 27001.
• Hands-on experience in 1LOD technology risk and controls or 2LOD oversight.
