Vice President, Assistant General Counsel

Responsibilities

• Serve as the deputy for the Senior Vice President of the CBLA team, providing legal and commercial guidance and risk management
• Coordinate and advise on major legal and regulatory matters, special projects, and team operations
• Advise, structure, and negotiate complex transactions including digital, distribution, licensing, and advertising arrangements
• Manage a team of lawyers and legal professionals supporting business operations, vendor transactions, and technology
• Stay informed on legal decisions, statutory changes, and industry trends to recommend proactive actions

Requirements

• J.D. degree and member in good standing of the New York bar
• At least 15 years of relevant work experience in intellectual property, licensing, and commercial transactions
• Experience negotiating complex legal and business terms with diverse stakeholders
• Proven experience managing a team in a high-pressure environment
• Strong ability to analyze complex regulatory material and communicate implications clearly
• Understanding of legal operations and contract management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience acting as deputy or chief of staff for a senior leader
• 7+ years of experience on a fast-paced in-house legal team
• 7+ years of management experience
• Experience negotiating AI licenses and negotiations with large tech platforms
• Product counseling experience
