Vice President, Application Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-availability, fault-tolerant software for Aladdin, BlackRock's global investment operating system.
• Collaborate with multi-office and multi-country teams to deliver high-efficiency trading platform solutions.
• Apply validated quality software engineering practices through all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Lead technical vision and partner in brainstorming solutions to improve team productivity and efficiency.
• Drive a culture of inclusion and diversity through active engagement and management actions.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject area.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven foundation in Core Java, Object-Oriented design, and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Deep understanding of concurrent programming and designing distributed, high-throughput applications.
• Proficiency with relational databases and engineering tools including git, maven, and unit testing frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Golang.
• Expertise in distributed applications using SQL or NoSQL technologies.
• Experience with cloud-native design patterns and microservice architectures.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools and container orchestration.
