About the role

Responsibilities

  • Shape federal and state advocacy strategies as a senior member of the Advocacy team
  • Build and manage a government affairs capability integrating lobbying, policy intelligence, and digital engagement
  • Advise clients on translating policy objectives into measurable advocacy programs and stakeholder plans
  • Leverage existing relationships across the administration, federal agencies, and congressional offices to create access
  • Lead federal lobbying efforts, including Hill and agency outreach, client preparation, and policymaker meetings
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments to provide timely recommendations and advocacy content
  • Oversee client-facing materials such as briefs, presentations, talking points, and action alerts
  • Coordinate with product, data, and creative teams while mentoring staff to establish a scalable service model

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Communications, Public Affairs, Public Policy, or a related field
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in advocacy, public affairs, government relations, or lobbying
  • Proven track record of executing federal and state advocacy programs for corporations or associations
  • Direct federal lobbying experience, including congressional and agency engagement
  • Existing relationships with administration officials, agency staff, congressional offices, or trade associations
  • Strong understanding of the federal legislative and regulatory process
  • Excellent executive presence and communication skills for briefing senior leaders and policymakers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior senior role in a federal agency, congressional office, or public affairs firm
  • Registered federal lobbying experience or direct management of federal lobbying programs
  • Experience building coalitions on complex policy issues
  • Proficiency with digital advocacy tools, grassroots activation, and social listening
