About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee academic programs, faculty appointments, promotions, and the overall academic experience for students and faculty.
- Manage the implementation of strategic plan goals, objectives, and policies for LCVM education.
- Lead faculty affairs processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluation, retention, and professional development.
- Monitor faculty compliance with college, state, and federal regulations, ensuring alignment with mission priorities.
- Oversee all aspects of veterinary medicine education and support the recruitment of a highly qualified student body.
- Conduct classroom observations to identify necessary educational and technical resources.
- Manage assigned budgets and oversee agreements with institutional affiliates and partners.
- Represent the College at local, regional, and national meetings and committees.
Requirements
- Terminal degree (DVM, Ph.D., or Ed.D.).
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in academic or faculty affairs.
- Previous appointment as a faculty member.
- Eligibility for appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
- Knowledge of AVMA-COE accreditation standards.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
