Viaduct Inspector (Rail)

Responsibilities

• Perform regular and thorough inspections of viaduct construction sites to assess work quality, materials, and adherence to project plans
• Inspect structural components such as beams, columns, and supports to ensure compliance with engineering and safety standards
• Supervise construction activities to ensure execution according to the project timeline and identify potential delays
• Verify that construction materials and workmanship comply with project specifications and quality standards
• Ensure strict adherence to on-site safety protocols and procedures to protect workers and the public
• Analyze construction plans and specifications to anticipate challenges and ensure compliance with approved methods
• Maintain detailed records of inspections and work executed
• Direct inspectors and oversee their performance
• Assist in the review of installation and as-built drawings, and prepare snag lists for handover to operating authorities

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 4+ years of related construction supervision experience, OR a Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering with 7+ years of experience
• Proven experience in construction inspection or supervision, specifically within infrastructure projects such as bridges or viaducts
• Proficiency in using inspection tools, surveying equipment, and structural analysis software
• Strong oral and written communication skills for collaborating with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous work experience on a metro rail project
• Experience working in Dubai, UAE, or the GCC region within an engineering consulting firm
• Proficiency in project management tools and various computer software
