About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist doctors with exams, procedures, and surgeries
- Perform blood draws on dogs and cats
- Administer medications and vaccinations
- Follow vaccine protocols and pharmacology guidelines
- Utilize low-stress handling and restraint techniques
- Perform patient diagnostics including lab work and imaging
- Educate clients on treatment plans, preventive care, and post-operative instructions
- Mentor and coach veterinary assistants and externs
Requirements
- Strong foundational clinical and technical skills
- Experience handling patients of various sizes and temperaments
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Positive, team-focused mindset
- Vetspire experience is a plus
