Veterinary Technician - Neurology

Responsibilities

• Assist board-certified neurologists with neuro exams, diagnostic procedures, and intricate surgeries
• Monitor patients at risk for cardiac and respiratory arrest and initiate CPR as needed
• Perform patient assessments and maintain detailed medical records
• Communicate with pet owners regarding patient history and at-home care
• Utilize diagnostics including MRI, CT, and radiology
• Obtain and handle patient samples, including cerebrospinal fluid sampling
• Provide intensive monitoring for neurological patients before, during, and after procedures
• Advocate for the well-being and comfort of patients

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting
• Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring
• Strong medical math and drug calculation skills
• Ability to lift 40 lbs
• Excellent communication and people skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent certification
• Experience in neurology or specialty practice
