About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage hospital sanitation, including laundry upkeep, kennel cleaning, and disinfection of exam rooms and patient wards.
- Provide coverage for service technicians by assisting with patient care, sample collection, patient restraint, and diagnostic coordination.
- Monitor and restock inventory levels in treatment rooms, patient care areas, and the laundry room to maintain hospital readiness.
- Work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, including potential participation in blood bank on-call and emergency response shifts.
- (For Level 3) Instruct others on hospital procedures, protocols, and technical techniques.
Requirements
- Must be actively licensed with the Louisiana Board of Veterinary Medicine as a Registered Veterinary Technician.
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and crawling.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience requirements vary by level:
- Technician 1: Entry level
- Technician 2: Two years of related experience
- Technician 3: Four years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Fear Free Certification.
- Additional years of related experience beyond the minimum requirements.
