Veterinary Technician- Dentistry

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality veterinary care and dental support to patients at a Vetco Total Care hospital
• Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia procedures
• Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures, including monitoring anesthesia and vital parameters
• Perform patient restraint, obtain and process laboratory samples, and handle/dispense medications
• Greet clients, obtain patient vitals and history, and maintain accurate electronic medical records
• Provide in-hospital treatments such as administering injectable/oral medications and intravenous therapies
• Communicate with and educate clients, relay test results, and manage appointment scheduling
• Maintain a clean and organized hospital environment following maintenance schedules

Requirements

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician certification as required by the state
• At least 1 year of previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with computers and telephone systems
• Ability to remain compassionate and professional during emotional or stressful situations
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds as necessary
