About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia and vital signs
- Provide nursing care for hospitalized and recovering patients
- Place IV catheters, administer IV fluids, and support fluid therapy
- Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples
- Operate digital radiography, dental radiography, and lab analyzers
- Maintain medical records, treatment logs, and patient documentation
- Communicate with pet owners about treatment plans and aftercare
Requirements
- Experience as a veterinary technician
- Knowledge of veterinary medical practices and terminology
- Skilled in animal handling and restraint
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospital
- Proficiency with veterinary software
- Physical ability to lift and restrain animals
