Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Perform nursing care in a veterinary hospital setting
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Utilize proper animal handling and restraint techniques for a variety of species

Requirements

• 1+ years of veterinary clinical experience as a veterinary assistant or technician
• Strong animal handling and restraint skills
• Knowledge of common medications, vaccinations, and preventatives
• Ability to assist in surgical procedures
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• NC RVT license
• Familiarity with Cornerstone or ProVet software
• Experience working with cats, dogs, and exotic animals
