Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support to General Medicine Veterinarians in examination rooms and during inpatient procedures
• Assist with all aspects of radiology, surgery, and critical care medicine
• Manage patient care, including case management for animals admitted to the hospital
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and fecal sample analysis
• Conduct blood work, position and acquire radiographs, and administer injectable or oral medications
• Calculate drug doses and manage fluid therapy
• Administer anesthesia and oxygen therapy
• Communicate effectively with clients and referring veterinarians

Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods
• Must be dependable, organized, and self-motivated
• Ability to work energetically for entire shifts, which may sometimes exceed 12 hours

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of veterinary technician experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
