About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level patient care to boarded, hospitalized, and inpatient pets
  • Assist with emergency triage, surgical procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and patient recovery
  • Perform clinical tasks including placing IV catheters, drawing blood, running bloodwork, and x-ray positioning
  • Generate treatment plans, collect samples, and enter patient history into medical records
  • Coordinate care with inpatient veterinarians and communicate orders to appropriate staff
  • Manage client relations by preparing discharge instructions and packaging medications/food for home use
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized treatment area

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of recent experience in a veterinary practice or medical environment
  • Proficiency in patient restraint and knowledge of veterinary medical terminology
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs independently and work energetic shifts that may exceed 10 hours
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to compassionate animal care
  • Willingness to work in a 24-hour facility, including nights, weekends, and holidays
