About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the ER/ICU nursing team through coaching, training, performance management, and mentorship
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, hiring, onboarding, and daily departmental operations
- Partner with veterinarians, specialists, and hospital leadership to ensure exceptional patient care and efficient workflows
- Support departmental growth, operational excellence, and a positive, accountable team culture
- Coordinate training and continuing education initiatives to promote clinical excellence
- Provide clinical leadership and support daily case flow as part of a growing 24/7 emergency service
Requirements
- Credentialed veterinary technician (LVT, RVT, CVT)
- 3-5 years of emergency medicine experience
- 3-5 years of leadership experience
- At least 2 years of experience in veterinary ER/Specialty medicine
- Strong commitment to accountability and patient-first care
Preferred Qualifications
- Fear Free certification
