Veterinary Assistant

Responsibilities

• Handle and restrain pets for examinations and procedures
• Record accurate medical records using appropriate veterinary terminology
• Assist medical team members with appointments, x-rays, and lab work
• Perform radiology with an understanding of appropriate fields
• Complete medical calculations and understand commonly used veterinary medications
• Communicate discharge instructions clearly to pet owners
• Maintain clinic cleanliness and perform upkeep as needed
• Collaborate closely with DVMs and coworkers to deliver high-quality patient care
• Act as a brand ambassador to help grow the local clinic membership base

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant
• Proficiency in pet handling and restraint
• Experience with medical record keeping and radiology
• Strong client communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong work ethic and a forward-thinking mindset
