Veterinary Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians, faculty, and clinical staff with routine patient care, handling, and restraint of small animals
• Support clinical and shelter operations by preparing exam rooms, cleaning work areas, and restocking supplies
• Prepare animals for exams, procedures, and surgery, and assist with basic post-procedure monitoring
• Maintain clear and accurate records by assisting with charting and documentation
• Work collaboratively with faculty, students, technicians, and shelter staff to support teaching activities and outreach programs

Requirements

• Extensive veterinary assistant experience or successful completion of a Veterinary Technician program
• Proven work experience and familiarity with the veterinary medical profession
• Strong small animal handling and technical skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player
• Ability to solve problems effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching or assisting in a student learning environment
