Veterinary Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection
• Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment by disinfecting surfaces and cleaning kennels
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are well-stocked
• Greet clients and escort pets to exam rooms while obtaining preliminary medical history
• Provide support during medical procedures, including equipment setup and animal monitoring
• Prepare and label laboratory samples accurately
• Assist with radiography by positioning animals and operating equipment
• Help educate clients on medication administration and post-operative instructions
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient care records
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a veterinary setting
• Strong animal handling skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Physical stamina to lift animals and stand for extended periods
