Veterinary Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate medical care and support to pets and clients
• Room patients and obtain accurate, thorough medical histories
• Perform basic exam procedures and assist with surgical procedures
• Execute venipuncture (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
• Perform digital radiology (X-ray) including proper patient positioning
• Conduct laboratory work including microscope use (ear and fecal cytology) and IDEXX in-house laboratory tasks
• Educate clients on pet care and medical needs
• Maintain a positive and motivating presence within the team

Requirements

• 3+ years of clinical experience as a veterinary assistant or receptionist
• Proven experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Proficiency in venipuncture and laboratory skills
• Experience with digital radiology and positioning
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with doctors and team members
