Veterinary Assistant

Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories for patients
• Perform basic examination procedures and assist with clinical workflows
• Execute venipuncture and blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
• Perform digital radiology (X-ray) including proper patient positioning
• Monitor general anesthesia and provide surgical assisting, post-operative care, and recovery support
• Conduct laboratory tasks including microscopy (ear and fecal cytology) and use of automated in-house machines
• Provide excellent communication and education to clients regarding pet care

Requirements

• Proven experience as a veterinary technician or assistant in a clinical setting
• Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques
• Strong knowledge of industry tools, equipment, and medical procedures
• Ability to adapt to new workflows and collaborate effectively with a medical team
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
