Veterinary Assistant 1

Responsibilities

• Support all functions of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) and DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center
• Assist faculty in providing clinical and laboratory experiences for students in a professional manner
• Prepare for laboratories by organizing resources, animals, student groups, equipment, and consumables
• Perform laboratory clean-up and maintain a current inventory of materials and equipment
• Assist with the handling, maintenance, monitoring, and treatment of animals housed at the center
• Maintain accurate and adequate records for all animals
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, and IACUC guidelines during student clinical activities
• Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University and foster effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience handling and managing companion animals
• Experience managing farm animals
