Vessel Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on engines, generators, pumps, hydraulics, and HVAC systems
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Conduct inspections and system checks before and after vessel operations
• Identify and resolve mechanical failures and respond to emergencies to minimize downtime
• Operate and maintain auxiliary equipment such as winches, hoists, and compressors
• Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance, inspections, and repairs in compliance with USCG regulations
• Monitor inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts

Requirements

• Strong mechanical background with ability to diagnose and repair vessel systems
• Understanding of maritime safety protocols and environmental regulations
• Ability to work in variable weather and physically demanding environments
• Flexibility to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Strong communication skills and reliability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with marine mechanical systems
• Basic Safety Training (BST)
• First Aid and CPR certification
