Vehicle & Mission Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Author test procedures for spacecraft hardware and software flight worthiness
• Lead high-visibility integration campaigns for development and flight hardware
• Operate spacecraft by interpreting telemetry and sending commands during system tests
• Serve as a key operator during on-orbit operations and real-time decision-making
• Interface with customers to scope payload testing
• Identify and resolve off-nominal conditions during testing
• Communicate status, needs, and risks to the engineering team
• Assess risks associated with integration and test approaches

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical, computer, or relevant engineering
• 1+ years of experience in integration, test, or automation engineering
• Competency with analog and digital circuits, sensors, and instrumentation
• Familiarity with RF, fluids, statics, mechanics, and data acquisition systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting spacecraft subsystems and system acceptance testing
• Familiarity with mission operations concepts like LEOP, telemetry, and fault protection
• Experience working in a clean room with ESD-sensitive equipment
• Experience operating vehicles in mission or production settings
• Hands-on experience with HITL or Flatsat software verification testbeds
• Proficiency in Python or Rust
• Experience with Linux systems
