Vehicle Maintenance Technician II

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance (PM) inspections on light and medium-duty vehicles and equipment
• Conduct State emission inspections and assist with Federal DOT inspections in adherence to FMCSR
• Diagnose and repair light and medium vehicles (gas and diesel), forklifts, trailers, and powered equipment
• Perform repairs on hydraulic brake systems, air brake systems, and various hydraulic components
• Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical system components, including cranking, lighting, and charging
• Assist higher-level technicians with complex diagnostics and repairs on all fleet vehicles and equipment

Requirements

• Two-year associate degree or certificate in auto, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics plus two years of related experience
• OR a high school diploma with at least three years of related experience
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain a CDL Class A within 120 days of hire
• Ability to lift/push at least 100lbs and carry 50lbs for at least 25 feet
• Ability to work in a garage environment and tolerate heights in aerial devices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electric utility fleets or heavy-duty diesel engines
• Experience with aerial boom equipment and basic hydraulics
• ASE or AWS Welding Certifications
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency with computer equipment, including laptops and tablets
