Vehicle Electrician

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, repair, and maintain electrical systems on heavy, light, and special purpose vehicles and Materials Handling Equipment (MHE)
• Use and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and specialized test equipment to troubleshoot malfunctions
• Conduct Limited Technical Inspections (LTIs) to determine necessary repairs, parts, and costs
• Perform preventative maintenance, including servicing oils, filters, coolants, and belts
• Charge and repair air conditioning systems and manage battery charging operations
• Research parts using Federal Logistics (FEDLOG) and technical orders
• Maintain a safe work environment by following all Safety, Environmental, and HAZMAT procedures

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Three years of experience as a vehicle electrician
• Formal electrical engineering training or apprenticeship
• Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, technical orders, and detailed instructions
• Valid driver's license
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust U.S. Government Clearance
