About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute complex Wheel Force Transducer (WFT) and tire tests at premier racetracks across North America.
- Lead pre-event calibration and manage trackside network equipment for real-time data processing.
- Identify and troubleshoot sensor or data anomalies during high-pressure test sessions.
- Develop and optimize custom software, scripts, and processes to streamline testing and data reduction.
- Post-process large track datasets and distribute accurate telemetry to Aerodynamics, Tire, and Vehicle Dynamics teams.
- Correlate offline simulation tools with physical at-track data and support Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) simulator sessions.
- Manage the lifecycle of specialized data acquisition equipment and maintain testing documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 1–3 years of professional experience.
- Proven knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles and physical testing methods.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and Python for data analysis and software development.
- Willingness to travel extensively (12–14 events per year), including weekends and occasional international travel.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous race engineering or track support experience in top-tier series (NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA, WEC, or Formula 1).
- Hands-on experience with advanced simulation software such as Dymola, CarSim, VI-Grade, or Canopy.
- Expertise in industry-standard data acquisition (DAQ) tools like Motec i2, Bosch WinDarab, or McLaren Atlas.
- Proficiency in Visual Studio and C#.
