Vehicle Damage Assessor

Responsibilities

• Carry out visual inspections to identify accidental damage and avoid uninsured loss
• Estimate repairs using the most economical methods via manual or company systems
• Maintain awareness of incoming vehicles and flag potential issues
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements
• Explain repair procedures and processes to workshop staff and customers
• Value vehicles at market value to determine repairable economics
• Record all chargeable materials on job cards for invoicing
• Review open job cards daily to report work in progress problems
• Evaluate and justify bodywork warranty claims
• Estimate required time, materials, and parts for repairs
• Use modern estimating methods in line with Thatcham or other authorized repair times
• Communicate vehicle faults or safety issues to customers

Requirements

• Relevant experience as an estimator
• Ability to qualify and quantify required repairs
• Strong negotiation skills with third parties and customers
• Audatex training
• Escribe training and adherence
• Technical knowledge of SMART repairs
