About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage Virtualized Multi-Tenant Data Centers and hybrid Cloud Computing solutions
- Determine technical requirements to support AF/DoD mission-sets
- Plan and coordinate physical-to-virtual server migrations
- Engineer and deploy technologies aligned with Air Force enterprise environments
- Manage virtual environments including storage, networking, and VDI solutions using VMware vSphere, Citrix Xen, or Microsoft Hyper-V
- Develop test and training plans for backend virtual environments including Cisco UCS and EMC VNX
- Provision virtual servers for Unified Computing and SharePoint deployments
- Deploy and configure networks, servers, and storage to Air Force specifications
- Perform daily VDI health checks and monitoring of backend infrastructure
- Create baseline Gold Images for networks and administration
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering preferred
- Security+ certification or higher
- Experience with VMWare vSphere, Citrix Xen, or Microsoft Hyper-V
- Experience managing Thin, Zero, or Multi-Level clients
- Formal VMWare View training and extensive deployment experience
