Vascular Surgeon Consultant

Responsibilities

• Conduct outpatient vascular clinics
• Perform elective and emergency vascular theatre sessions
• Lead daily ward rounds for vascular inpatients
• Manage post-take ward rounds and acute admissions
• Assess and manage emergency vascular referrals
• Participate in consultant on-call duties
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including radiology, anaesthetics, and intensive care
• Provide senior clinical decision-making and supervision
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient safety standards

Requirements

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Vascular Surgery or significant vascular experience as a General Surgeon
• Extensive NHS consultant-level experience in vascular surgery
• Ability to independently manage elective and emergency cases
• Current DBS clearance
• Right to work in the UK
• DE status

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working across multiple hospital sites
• Experience within a busy acute NHS vascular service
• Familiarity with NHS electronic patient record systems
