Vascular Sonographer

Responsibilities

• Perform noninvasive vascular ultrasound procedures, including Carotid Duplex (CD), peripheral arterial physiologic and duplex exams, and peripheral venous duplex exams.
• Conduct various abdominal and other specialized duplex exams to assist with patient diagnosis.
• Assess patients and adapt to changing clinical situations while managing workload fluctuations.
• Document and maintain accurate patient and test data, ensuring correct order codes are used for billing.
• Maintain and utilize departmental and hospital equipment effectively.
• Participate in departmental goals, including metric tracking, improvement initiatives, and presenting monthly reports.
• Provide coverage for off-site locations and participate in weekend call rotations.
• Assist with the development of protocols, workflow efficiencies, and the training of new staff or travelers.

Requirements

• 2 or more years of hands-on experience in vascular sonography post-schooling.
• Proficiency and ability to work independently in all outpatient (OP) exams.
• State licensure for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
• Ability to obtain ARDMS or CCI registry within 2 years of hire (in accordance with IAC guidelines).
