About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care pre, during, and post-procedure in a surgery center setting
- Perform IV insertion and administer medications and IV moderate sedation as directed
- Monitor patient condition during procedures, specifically for those receiving sedation or contrast media
- Obtain medical history, perform nursing assessments, and provide post-procedure education to patients and families
- Maintain sterile technique and act as a scrub technologist to assist physicians during procedures
- Document patient information, medical records, and lab results accurately and in compliance with facility policies
- Operate and maintain facility equipment including patient monitors, defibrillators, and sterilizers
- Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in accordance with bloodborne pathogen control policies
Requirements
- High School Diploma required (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Current RN licensure
- Valid ACLS and BLS certifications
- Proficiency in IV insertion
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm recognition
- Ability to work 5-hour shifts and a minimum of one Saturday per month
Preferred Qualifications
- 4-6 years of related nursing experience
- Experience in an Ambulatory Surgical Center, Vascular Access, Cardiac Cath Lab, ICU/CCU, or Emergency Department
- Proficiency with medical database software and Microsoft Office
