Varsity Boys Basketball Coach

Responsibilities

• Coach student athletes in game strategies and techniques
• Hold organizational meetings for team prospects
• Assess players' skills and assign team positions
• Develop regular practice schedules and organize practice time
• Work with the Athletic Director to schedule facilities
• Instruct players on rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques
• Monitor academic performance to ensure eligibility requirements are met
• Follow MHSAA and school regulations governing the athletic program
• Maintain standards of pupil behavior and provide proper supervision
• Model sportsman-like behavior and non-discriminatory practices
• Manage care and maintenance of equipment and uniforms

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a coach or assistant coach at the middle or high school level
• Effective coaching techniques and skills
• Thorough knowledge of MHSAA rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with administrators, parents, and students
