About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing patient information to the interventionist and clinical team during procedures, including cardiac monitoring, Aldrete scores, and pain status.
- Monitor patient vitals such as heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and EKG during procedures.
- Gather pre-treatment clinical information, including patient assessments and medical history.
- Assist in recovery room patient care following surgical procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient medical records and up-to-date narcotic drug logs.
- Develop and provide patient education and discharge instructions.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care and assist with postoperative visits and office evaluations.
- Support the department in obtaining and maintaining AAAASF accreditation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent in education and experience.
- 4 years of related clinical experience.
- Valid New York State RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate effectively with multicultural and language-deficit patients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
